Chaplaincy Program at Peninsula Catholic

“If a school is excellent as an academic institution, but does not witness to authentic values, then both good pedagogy and concern for pastoral care make it obvious that renewal is called for – not only in the content and methodology of religious instruction, but in the overall school planning which governs the whole process of formation of the students.”
~The Religious Dimension of Education in a Catholic School

Father Nick Redmond, the Parochial Vicar of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, serves as PC's Chaplain. In the summer of 2011, God called Father Redmond to apply to the seminary. He studied at the Theological College of the Catholic University of America, earning a Master's in Divinity and the Pontifical Bachelor's in Sacred Theology. Father Nick Redmond was ordained a priest by His Excellency Bishop Barry Knestout on June 2, 2018, in Richmond.  He is very excited to be able to return to Peninsula Catholic as Chaplain and hopes to work hard to serve the school community's spiritual needs.

Father Nick Redmond and Deacon Dan Johnson, also from OLMC, offer a regular pastoral presence at school by presiding at liturgies, assisting with classroom instruction, collaborating with retreat teams, and assisting with all spiritual needs of the school community. Father Nick Redmond presides at weekly mass and is available for Adoration and the Sacrament of Reconciliation twice a month.
