School Spirit

There are many opportunities for students to participate in school-spirited events.

Homecoming Week takes place in early October each year. During this time we always take a moment to celebrate our founder’s day on October 5th! The Student Council creates a theme for the week and then the students show their class spirit by competing in dances, hallway decorations, costumes, Top Chef and more all week long. We will have a Homecoming volleyball game where the “spirit sword” is awarded to the most spirited class. The week ends with our Homecoming Dance that Saturday night.

Catholic Schools Week is a national event that takes place at the end of January/early February. We take this time to celebrate being a part of Catholic Schools! We will learn more about our faith as a school and take time for additional prayer and fun activities. As a school, we will participate in a Living Rosary, which is an experience in which the students actually become the prayer beads. This will culminate in our Catholic Schools Week pep rally that Friday to join together as a community and celebrate the wonderful life of being at a Catholic School.

Up next is Showdown, an event truly unique to our school. Different grade levels team up to participate in competitions to show how well they can work as a team. Juniors team up with our Freshman, and then Seniors team up with the Sophomores. Our upstairs and downstairs foyer become decorated with each team’s colors, with whatever they can find! They participate in competitions at our Friday pep rally, and at the end of that pep rally, one team is awarded the Undisputed Showdown Belt!

Our last major school spirit event is our Senior Spirit Week. This event takes place the week before the Prom. The seniors get to participate in a week of dress-up days to help them remember the good times that they have had in their years of school, and also the life that they are preparing for. This week will end with our Senior Pep Rally where the entire school gets to show their love for the graduating seniors.
