“Thanks for making Zyion's transition so smooth. From day one you were willing to help, we are beyond grateful. Words can't express what a difference PCHS has made in Zyion's educational journey.”

The 8th Grade program at Peninsula Catholic High School provides a unique experience for a limited number of students to transition from middle to high-school learners in the high school environment.  Our program is purposefully small, admitting no more than 20 students per year, to provide those students with a more individualized experience, and so they have the opportunity to better get to know their peers and PC.

Because they follow the same 4 X 4 block schedule as 9th-12th grade students, their 8th-grade year at PC provides them the advantage of acclimating to the pacing and academic rigors of Peninsula Catholic prior to starting 9th grade. The 8th-grade curriculum comprises classes specifically for 8th-grade students and includes English 8, PE 8, Theology 8, PC 101*, and Pre-Algebra or Algebra I. To fill out their schedule, 8th graders at PC have the opportunity to take three high-school credit classes, giving them a head start on their high school career.

*PC 101: This course is an overview of academic and technology skills needed for success at the high school level. It will introduce students to study and test-taking skills and basic keyboarding skills, as well as introducing them to the Canvas and Google platforms, video creation and editing, presentation skills, and other areas that will benefit them throughout their high school experience and beyond.
