Receptionist Position

Peninsula Catholic High School in Newport News, Virginia has an immediate opening for a skilled Receptionist. This position will provide Administrative/Secretarial/Clerical support to the school administration and faculty.This position is a 10 month (40 hours/week) position.

Responsibilities and task are not limited to the following:
Issues admission and early dismissal slips
Assists administrators with correspondence and other services as needed
Sorts and posts mail
Screens and responds to telephone calls and inquiries; greets visitors to the school
Compiles a list of daily absentees and early dismissals to inform faculty and staff
Makes announcements over school public address system
Keeps Principal, Guidance Counselor, Director of Development and Marketing, and Campus Minister informed regarding difficult circumstances in student’s lives, serious illnesses, and other circumstances, etc., 
Performs other tasks as required

A minimum of an Associate’s Degree or commensurate experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and database management   
Effective and efficient telephone communication skills
Exceptional time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
Attention to detail and problem solving skills
Professional demeanor, flexible and able to respond to multiple demands
Ability to create a welcoming, pleasant environment; ability to maintain confidentiality
Organized; positive, efficient, prompt and service-oriented approach
