About Arts at PC

Visual Arts

PC engages students in both traditional and contemporary methods, including photography, drawing, painting and printmaking, sculpture, ceramics and graphic design. Creativity and critical thinking skills are developed as students are encouraged to find personal connections and meaning in their art. The National Art Honor Society sponsors activities for students to showcase artwork in  school and in the community. All students are encouraged to exhibit work throughout the year in regional contests and exhibitions, as well as in PC’s annual Celebration of the Arts, a juried exhibit held at school each spring.

Theatre

PC includes acting, public speaking, and technical theatre courses, as well as the extracurricular PC Players. A three-show season includes a fall play, student-directed holiday showcase, and spring musical. Recent shows include The Little Mermaid Jr, Paul Sills’ Story Theater, and The Lion King Jr.  All sets are designed by tech theatre students.

Students of the arts participate in field trips to college and professional productions, backstage theatre tours, visits to special art exhibits, and a spring trip to experience Broadway and the legendary art museums of New York City.
