About Us

Greetings,

On behalf of the faculty and staff, it is my pleasure to welcome you to Peninsula Catholic.  We are a community of learners, servants, and friends who come from almost all of the seven cities of Hampton Roads and have varied faith traditions and cultures.  First and foremost, however, we are Knights and Peninsula Catholic quickly becomes home to our students as we support each other in an environment of inclusivity and compassion.

In 1989, when I joined this community as an English teacher, I saw and was taken in by the commitment to the values of the Catholic Church, the nurturing student-centered environment, and the challenging curriculum.  Now, almost 30 years later,  it is a privilege to be able to say that those elements have only grown stronger over time. Our students participate in a retreat program that is transformational.  They perform, on average, 50 hours a year of service to their church and charities and learn to be leaders in their classes, clubs, and on their athletic teams. They engage in learning with dedicated and caring faculty that promotes critical thinking, collaboration, research, problem-solving, and creation. We are proud to be leaders of technology-infused learning, with some of our initiatives being the first in Hampton Roads, most notably our Digital Learning Days.

All our students graduate with a plan--most attend a four year college, but some choose the military, apprenticeships, or career opportunities.  More importantly, as students cross the stage at graduation, they will not only be academically prepared and connected to the ever-changing, diverse world they will be entering, they are also dedicated to making a difference; faith-filled and respectful of others’ beliefs, one another, and themselves; and confident in their values, strong in character, and ready to lead.

I am honored to help carry on the traditions that Peninsula Catholic has held for over 100 years as we continue to look to the future with a vision that will continue the spiritual, intellectual, and moral growth of tomorrow’s leaders.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Principal
